2022 - 2023 Early Career Counsellor
Group Supervision Scheme

Duration: Sep 2022 – Aug 2023

Participants’ Prerequisite:
1) Graduate in Counselling and/or Psychology with degree or above (or overseas equivalent) in counselling within 4 years;
2) AND is current practicing not more than 250 hours of individual face to face counseling OR not more than 400 hours of face to face group counselling with regular clinical supervision at the time of application.

Scheme Objectives:
The scheme aimed to provide regular clinical group supervision for beginner counsellor in order to establish their clinical development.
By the end of the program, participants who have obtained at least 250 hours of individual face to face counselling OR at least 400 hours of face to face group counselling within the period as a Counselling Intern (80% or above of attendance) CAN promote to a Registered Counsellor in the meantime.

Applicants would become the Full Member (with voting right) of Asian ProfessionalCounselling and Psychology Association. The membership is valid to 31st December 2023.

Applicants who promote to Registered Counselor are required to fill out the application form (download here) with supporting documentation attached for approvals.

Supervision Structure:
There will be a total of 10 monthly group supervisory sessions with maximum 6 participants (1.5 hours for each session) conducted by the Registered Clinical Supervisors from Asian Professional Counselling and Psychology Association. Supervision would be administered in online mode.

Application Procedure:

Completed the application form (download here) with cheque payable to ‘Asian Professional Counselling and Psychology Association Limited’OR bank-in the corresponding fees to (HSBC: 808-021620-292) and mail together with
the payment slip to "Department of Registration, Asian Professional Counselling and Psychology Association, Department of Counselling and Psychology, Hong Kong Shue Yan University,10 Wai Tsui Crescent, Braemar Hill, North Point, Hong Kong”.

Scheme Fee:
HKD $1,500 per person
HKD $1,250 (discount for full member of APCPA and Hong Kong General Union of School Counselling Professionals)

Supervision Schedule
The supervision would be scheduled on weekdays evening. The exact dates and time would be confirmed in Mid Sep 2022
